We watched the lauch from across the bay on Merrit Island which seemed like it was far away but when the shuttle took off, we could feel it and hear it and smell it.

...and that fast, it was gone. It was really spectacular but I was disappointed at how quicly it was over; it literally only last seconds. My sister, who is a veteran of these launches tells me that a night launch is even more impressive and that I should come back for one of those too. I will certainly try but there are only five launches left in the Space Shuttle program. I wonder what my sister will have me building on that trip.
She was trying to get a photo of me with the shuttle but accidently took this sideways video.
VERY cool! So Jealous. I'm dissapointed though; I didn't realize there were only a few more launches left-I'm going to have to get on the ball before its too late!
ReplyDeleteHi, Jessica!! Glad to meet another Lister!
ReplyDeleteAwesome view! I'm glad that the launch went as planned...I can sympathize with scrubbed launches. That is a huge thing to check off the list - congrats!
